    All of the above
Do I sound ignorant, shallow or just plain honest when I say that I'm so ridiculously bored of the recession? Seriously. Talking about the recession is about as interesting as talking about the weather. It's something we all have in common, but unless you're an economist or have some sort of expertise (like, suppose you work for the Canadian Mint), I highly doubt you have anything new and insightful to add to the dialogue.

And if we're talking about it without getting the juicy details about a much-hated or admired former classmate's layoff, chances are, we probably have nothing better to talk about.

Gawd. The recession is just so boring. (There, I said it. Can we go back to talking about how winter is cold now?)

With that being said, pictures of margaritas and mariachi bands are in order:

The recession has made me richer than ever! But yes it's time to let it go.

    Mmmmmmmmmmmm.........margarita :)

It's boring to you because it evidently isn't causing you any hardship.

It's not boring to me--listening to uninformed people talking about the recession is boring me.

And as for hardship...well, when you're already going into the red every month and struggling to pay off hefty student loans (much like most of my peers), then yes, it is really difficult to feel the effects. (My credit card is already in the freezer and I walk everywhere because I'm too cheap to pay for transit. Frugality and constantly worrying about money is already par for the course.)

At least with the weather, people know what they are talking about.

(C'mon now! Wasn't it obvious that the recession talk paired with extravagent vacation pictures was a deliberate juxtaposition?)

I couldn't agree with you more Jess. As one of your peers who also stopped taking transit because it is too expensive!! I am still going to appreciate what I do have and stop talking and blaming the recession for everything! Its like talking about Jen Aniston vs. Brangelina.

LOL. I'm sorry. I misunderstood. I thought that when you said "Gawd. The recession is just so boring" and "I'm so ridiculously bored of the recession"....you meant that you thought the recession was... boring.

And justaposing money woe/ frugal stories with tropical vacations is pretty funny actually, as you say.

I find this recession/depression or whatever it is fascinating and very worrisome. I'm starting to see people I know lose jobs and homes. Maybe the degree to which you care is a function of how much you stand to lose- which is usually proportional to increasing age and the number of people depending on you.

    Whatever.

I'm also totally bored of all this recession talk. I'll tell you what, I could do with hearing people talk about how times are great and there are jobs for everyone. And by everyone, I mean me.
